About

RedistrictNM.com is built on the recommendations of the cross-partisan New Mexico Redistricting Task Force, convened by the nonpartisan organization, New Mexico First.

The task force, comprised of Democrats, Republicans and Independents, believes that the New Mexico Legislature should adopt legislation to improve the openness, transparency, and fairness of political redistricting. The lack of firm legal criteria creates too much ambiguity and mistrust in the redistricting process and adds to the challenges that disenfranchised communities must navigate.
